About Us

Amon Ra Collective, have been appearing at live shows for the past 4 years surprising, scaring and entertaining audience members with its current 8 person live band.

Led by Samuel Ehret-Pickett, they play an exciting fusion of energetic solos, pulsing rhythms, electronic noise, free improvisation and Butch Morris' Conduction method with jazz, rock, world, afrobeat, drum and bass, and funk compositions.

Inspired by the music of Miles Davis' electric Jazz Fusion, John Coltrane's Fiery Impulse Releases, the spiritual jazz of Don Cherry, the ethio-jazz of Mulatu Astake and afrobeat of Fela Kuti.

In November 2023, Amon Ra Collective released their debut album through James Mainwaring's (Roller Trio) Lamplight Social Records and will be soon releasing their second album.

The Musicians from Amon Ra Collective are part of the vibrant Leeds jazz scene belonging to groups such as Fergus Quill's Imaginary Big Band, Ancient Infinity Orchestra (Gondwana),Lemon Soul, Nova.Sol, and Afrodesia.
